July 7 - September 1, 2015
Opening: Sunday, July 12th 3-5pm
Oskar, 2015, is a sound installation consisting of prerecorded audio that is manipulated in real time. The underlying soundtrack was made by re-drawing a painting by Oskar Schlemmer on a Korg Kaossilator pad. The tones and melodies relate graphically and emotionally to the figures in the painting. The track plays inside and outside of the gallery while a microphone captures exterior audio and cycles it through a looping mechanism. The sounds overlap in twenty second intervals that reset every two minutes. The exhibition also includes a drawing and four artist books.
The sound installation can be heard daily from 11am to 7pm.
